THE MED-PASS STORY
1989 - Founded by Lisa Hanauer to provide documentation exclusively for consultant and long-term care pharmacies.
1990 - MED-PASS creates a series of psychoactive drug use forms and reference tools to help pharmacies and care facilities comply with newly implemented OBRA regulations.
1991 - MED-PASS partners with American Society of Consultant Pharmacists on first of many projects that include Side Effect Monitoring documentation, JCAHO based Policies and Procedures for LTC Pharmacy Operations and the MDS-Med Guide.
1994 - MED-PASS partners with National Community Pharmacists Association to create the Pharmacists Care Claim Form to document pharmacist care.
1995 - MED-PASS partners with reimbursement expert Lisa Thomas Payne to produce CMNs and to create accompanying WCVOs for use by home medical equipment providers.
1997 - MED-PASS introduces the first comprehensive data collection form for documenting MDS 2.0 assessments in Medicare funded nursing facilities.
2000 - MED-PASS introduces the first comprehensive data collection form for documenting OASIS assessments for Medicare funded home care.
2001 - MED-PASS acquires the Heaton Resources line of healthcare regulatory reference and in-service training products.
2001 - MED-PASS creates the first comprehensive line of documentation tools tailored to the special needs of assisted living.
2002 - MED-PASS becomes a co-marketing and product development partner with the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and assumes responsibility for distribution of ASCP products.
2004 - MED-PASS introduces new line of SmartStaff® In-Service Training Programs for long-term care facility and assisted living community staff development.
2005 - MED-PASS introduces a new line of SeniorMedConsult Educational Programs created for healthcare professionals serving senior adults in community settings.
2005 -MED-PASS creates the first line of documentation tools tailored to the special needs of hospice care providers.
2007 - MED-PASS and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists introduce new documentation and reference tools created in response to the most significant changes to the SOM and related F-Tags by CMS since OBRA in 1990.
2010 - MED-PASS partners with Homecare SOS (now deVero) to provide OASIS assessment and home health online charting
2010 - MED-PASS introduces the first comprehensive data collection form for documenting MDS 3.0 assessments in Medicare funded nursing facilities.
2011 - MED-PASS partners with Florida Atlantic University/Pathway Health to provide INTERACT™ tools.
2012 - Reynolds & Reynolds acquires MED-PASS.
2013 - MED-PASS move to Reynold & Reynolds corporate office.
2016 - MED-PASS offers Heaton Resources line of Policy and Procedure Manuals in an online, dynamic document management system.
2016 - MED-PASS introduces Patient Information Handbooks that allow for customization of material to meet state regulations and agency polices/procedures.
2017 - MED-PASS and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists offer a new toolkit on implementing an antimicrobial stewardship program in nursing facilities.
2017 - MED-PASS introduces a new digital format for several popular reference resources and manuals.
2017 - MED-PASS introduces new documentation and manuals created in response to the most significant changes to the SOM and related F-tags in preparation of PDPM (Patient-Driven Payment Model) for Long-Term Care.
2017 - MED-PASS expands their product line with custom branded items to provide creative and targeted promotional material.
2018 - MED-PASS expands their Home Health line to include a new Emergency Preparedness manual and form to help meet new CMS Emergency Preparedness Conditions of Participation requirements.
2018 - MED-PASS partners with BlueStep to provide a new customizable EHR for Assisted Living Communities.
