The 02/12 revised 1500 Claim Form is still in the approval process by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) which appears will delay the previously planned June and October 2013 deadlines for use.

National Uniform Claim Committee (NUCC) will review the timeline and make adjustments accordingly once final approval of the revisions by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has been received.

Approval is imminent in order to be used in conjunction with the ICD-10 coding system. The ICD-10 transition period has been pushed back to October 1, 2014 (originally designated for October, 2013).
