The MDS Navigator for MDS 2.0 has been discontinued in anticipation of the October 1, 2010 implementation of MDS 3.0.

- Side One features a calendar wheel and a smaller inner wheel containing a sequence of important MDS 2.0 assessment dates required by Medicare. Simply turn the wheel to an admission date to determine the balance of dates on which the required Medicare assessments must take place. A smaller inner plastic disk is attached that can be rotated to identify admission assessment and subsequent quarterly assessment dates required by OBRA.
A plastic guide is also provided that rotates to identify ARD, MDS completion (R2b), RAP completion (VB2) and Care Plan completion (VB4) dates.
- Side Two features a wheel containing 13 different OBRA and Medicare Assessments and a smaller wheel with a window that can be rotated to crosswalk assessment scheduling criteria with:
- Assessment Reference Dates (ARD)
- Reason for Assessment Code
- MDS (R2b) and RAP (VB2) Completion date
- Care Plan (VB4) Completion Date
- Medicare A Payment
- Side Two also contains a Discharge vs. Leave of Absence chart that describes different scenarios and required OBRA and Medicare assessment/documentation for each.
