Most pressure ulcers are preventable. All healthcare staff should be familiar with the fundamentals of pressure ulcers development and prevention. This in-service gives an overview of pressure ulcers and discusses basic nursing prevention, assessment, intervention, treatment and monitoring of pressure ulcers. Also includes how to stage pressure ulcers using the NPUAP‘s updated 2007 staging system.
